Abstract: This thesis presents an investigation on effective design of mobile pedestrian navigation systems by conducting three field study experiments. It looked into the aspects of personalisation, navigation efficiency, user interactions, and navigation performance, in order to propose a set of design guidelines that can be used for future studies and developments.
